Main Line Passenger Services - Long distance train transport arrangements due to heavy rains in Kwazulu Natal

Due to the heavy rains that caused flooding and washing away of rail lines in the Kwazulu Natal Area, Main Line Passenger Services, the long-distance passenger rail service and a member of PRASA (Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa) announced the following changes to its train services,  


Durban

  • All train departures from Durban to Johannesburg and Johannesburg to Durban for Wednesday, 24 April 2019, have been cancelled.
  • Customers with valid train tickets will travel by busses from Durban and Johannesburg to their respective destinations.
  • The busses will travel in the same travel times as the trains.
  • Customers who wish to cancel their trip can go to the nearest Main Line Passenger Services office to change their reservations for an alternative date or claim a refund.

 

The arrangements are only applicable to customer’s that are booked and in possession of valid train tickets. Customers will be kept informed via an SMS from Main Line Passenger Services and information will also be placed on social media sites (Twitter / Facebook).

 

The situation will be monitored and if the weather persists other departures might also be affected. Customers may also contact our call centre number 086 000 8888.
