Metrorail Supports Bafana Bafana And Uruguay Tomorrow

Metrorail, a division of Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa), will be running trains to the South Africa vs Uruguay game tomorrow at Lofters Versveld, in Pretoria.

With large supporter numbers anticipated, Metrorail will be running approximately 8 trains with the capacity to transport 18 000 fans to and from the stadium. Soccer lovers with valid match tickets will ride for free to and from the stadium, which is approximately five minutes from the Rissik Station. Metrorail information officers will be on hand to assist passengers as well as visible security to ensure that fans enjoy their journey.

Valid match ticket holders travelling from Sandton, Rivonia, Johannesburg CBD, East Rand, West Rand can make their way to Johannesburg Park Station, park their vehicles at the Rissik Street parking lot, free of charge, board the train at platform 11 and 12 and travel to Pretoria Station where they will board a train shuttle service to Rissik Station.

Stopping stations will also be included in the train’s schedule for people in Germiston, Rhodesfield, Kempton Park, Kaalfontein and Centurion Station. Passengers from Pretoria and surrounding areas can make their way to Pretoria Station where they will take a train shuttle service to Rissik Station.

TRAIN SCHEDULE, SOUTH AFRICA VS URUGUAY, 16 JUNE 2010:
JOHANNESBURG PARK STATION TO PRETORIA STATION (4 TRAINS HAVE BEEN PROVIDED DEPARTING EVERY 30 MINUTES):

TRAIN 1 (to and from the stadium):

  • The train departs from Johannesburg Park Station – 16:30
    - Stopping at: Germiston 16:51; Rhodesfiled 17:13; Kempton Park 17:15; Kaalfontein 17:26; Centurion 17:49; Pretoria 18:16; arriving at Rissik Station at 18:52.
  • The train departs Rissik Station at – 22:50
    - Stopping at: Pretoria Station 23:00; Centurion 23:04; Kaalfontein 23:06; Kempton Park 23:28; Rhodesfield 23:42; Germiston 23:57; arriving at Johannesburg Park Station at 1:04 am.

TRAIN 2 (to and from the stadium):

  • The train departs from Johannesburg Park Station – 17:00
    - Stopping at: Germiston 17:00; Rhodesfield 17:36; Kempton Park 17:38; Kaalfontein 17:48; Centurion 18:11 Pretoria 18:24 standby train shuttle arriving at Rissik Station at approximately 12 minutes later.
  • Train departs Rissik Station - 17:00
    - Stopping at: Pretoria Station 23:10; Centurion 23:22; Kaalfontein 23:27; Kempton Park 23:37; Rhodesfield 23:39; Germiston 0:01; arriving at Johannesburg Park Station at 0:09.

TRAIN 3 (to and from the stadium):

  • The train departs from Johannesburg Park Station – 17:30
    - Stopping at: Germiston 17:44; Rhodesfield 18:06; Kempton Park 18:08; Kaalfontein 18:18; Centurion 18:41; Pretoria 18:54; and a standby train shuttle arriving at Rissik Station at approximately 12 minutes later.
  • Train departs Rissik Station – on standby shuttle to Pretoria Station
    - Stopping at: Pretoria 23:20; Centurion 23:32; Kaalfontein 23:37; Kempton Park 23:47; Rhodesfield 23:49; Germiston 0:11; and arriving at Johannesburg Park Station at 0:19.

TRAIN 4 (to and from the stadium):

  • Train departs Johannesburg Park Station – 18:00
    - Stopping at: Germiston 18:14; Rhodesfield 18:36; Kempton Park 18:38; Kaalfontein 18:48; Centurion 19:11; Pretoria 19:24; and a standby train shuttle arriving at Rissik Station at approximately 12 minutes later.
  • Train departs Johannesburg Park Station – 18:00
    - Stopping at Pretoria Station 23:30; Centurion 23:42; Kaalfontein 23:47; Kempton Park 23:57; Rhodesfield 23:57; Germiston 0:21; and arriving at Johannesburg Park Station at 0:29.
