Sfiso Norbert Buthelezi
Board Chairperson

Sfiso Buthelezi is the Chairman of Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) since 2009. He was appointed to the Board of South Africa Rail Commuter Corporation (SARCC), a precursor to PRASA in 2005. He holds several Board Chairmanships, amongst them, Autshumatu Investments, Sihayo Investments, Dirapeng and Golden Leopard Resorts.

He is also a non – executive director in other companies, including, Makana Financial Services, Heart FM 104, Igagasi FM, Kaya FM and an alternate director in the JSE listed company, Cadiz Financial Services.

He is currently the Chief Operating Officer of Makana Investment Corporation, a position he has held since leaving his previous employment as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Gambling Board.

Sfiso is also an Economist, having obtained a B.Com degree while he was serving jail term in Robben Island. He also holds a B.Com (Hons) and M.Com degree in Economics from the University of Cape Town.
