Sindi Mabaso Koyana

Prior to joining the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA), Sindi was an executive partner at Ernst & Young, heading up the Government and Public Sector division across Africa.

A former Chief Financial Officer at Transnet and founder member of Gobodo Incorporated, she also previously served as Financial Director at SARHWU Investments and Group MD of Viamax, a subsidiary of Transnet.

Sindi is passionate about the development and promotion of women chartered accountants. She was one of the founder members of African Women Chartered Accountants (AWCA) and has also been named one of the country’s most powerful businesswomen by the Financial Mail. In 2004, she was a finalist in the Businesswoman of the Year Award.

Sindi currently serves on the board of SAICA, the South Africa Institute of Chartered Accountants and is a member of the SAICA audit committee. She is a board member of the International Women’s Forum South Africa (IFWSA), as well as the SANRAL board.

Previously, Sindi also served on the boards of SAA, Armscor, the SA Mint, Transnet Limited, MTN Group, Spescom Limited, Umnotho we Sizwe and the V&A Waterfront, among others.
