Mthandeni Mntungwa

Ms. Nosizwe Nokwe-Macamo



Nosizwe Nokwe-Macamo brings with her a wealth of experience in corporate governance, having held numerous Board Memberships in the private and public sector, both as an Executive Director and a non-Executive Director, in a career spanning close to 30 years. She has worked in various industries, most notably Chemical and Petroleum as well as Executive Business Leadership in general.


She is a strategic business leader who is experienced in translating strategy into the delivery of innovative solutions. She is results-driven with substantial success in directing large scale high-end projects and operations. 


Nokwe-Macamo is armed with an MSc Petro-Chemical Engineering Degree which she obtained from the Gupkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas.  She also has a Diploma in Chemical Engineering from the Baku Polytechnic in Azerbaijan (1984). She also holds various diplomas and certificates in business, chemicals industry and leadership development from institutions such as Wits Business School, INSEAD, UCT, GIBS and CPS Oxford University in the UK.


Some of her professional career highlights include a substantial stay at ENGEN Petroleum between December 1992 and June 2006 where she began her career and rose through the ranks ,holding various management and executive positions. Other petroleum companies where she held leadership positions is TOTAL , Petronas(Malaysia) and PetroSA.

She also become the CEO for the DFI Mpumalanga Economic Growth Agency (MEGA) from 2007 to 2010.

Nokwe-Macamo’s vast experience also spans the public service , having worked for the Gauteng Provincial Government as a Director General in the Office of the Premier from November 2010 to February 2012. She was also the Group CEO of PETROSA, the first Gas to Liquid refinery in the world and third largest by size, from 2012 to 2015.


She is currently the founder and CEO of Varlolog, a multi-faceted company providing Oil and Gas advisory work which  facilitates investments into black owned businesses through its subsidiary Raise Africa Investments.
